Building Trusting Relationships for Student Well-being & Academic Success
The Family Resource Center (FRC) of the Roaring Fork Schools was established in 1995 by a community task force to address the increasing needs of children facing significant health and basic needs challenges that hinder their academic success. Today, the FRC operates as a family resource center for both schools and the community, featuring bilingual and bicultural family liaisons in each of the 12 traditional Roaring Fork School District (RFSD) schools, which serve Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, and Basalt.
Our team provides strengths-based family support services in alignment with the Strengthening Families and Protective Factors Framework and is proud to be a member of the Colorado Family Resource Center Association (FRCA).
At the heart of our organization are our bicultural and bilingual family liaisons, who offer comprehensive and coordinated wrap-around services and supports for families using the two-generation approach. This approach addresses the needs of both parents and children simultaneously. We utilize FRCA’s Family Development framework and the Family Pathways tool to build on family strengths and identify goals that foster family stability and well-being.
