Intent-to-Enroll Window Now Open
A general intent-to-enroll period for students in grades 1-12 is now open. Parents of students who want to attend a school at which they do not have a guaranteed seat (e.g., those requesting enrollment in a school outside the attendance area) should submit their enrollment intent by March 18 to any school office. Students will be notified of placement after April 15.

The intent-to-enroll window is for current students who wish to change schools, as well as to new students who wish to attend a school outside of their attendance area. (See attendance area map here.) Students who do not need to participate:
Those attending the same school in which they are currently enrolled,
Those continuing in their current progression in the Roaring Fork Schools, or
Those attending a school in their attendance area.
For example, students transitioning from Basalt Middle School to Basalt High School would not need to submit an intent-to-enroll.

Submitting an intent-to-enroll form does not guarantee placement. Students will be prioritized according to criteria outlined on the form and then placed on a waiting list if necessary.

Families can access the enrollment intent form at rfschools.com (see the Enrollment page within the Parents tab) or at any school or district office. Please call 970-384-6000 or contact the front office staff at any Roaring Fork School for more information.
Early Childhood
Early childhood education is offered at every elementay school in the district, and serves children between the ages of 12 months and 5 years. We run two types of programs:
Toddler programming, for children between the ages of 12 months and 3 years old. Maximum of 8 students, with a ratio of 2 teacher to 8 children.
Preschool programming, for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years. Maximum of 16 students, with a ratio of 2 teachers to 16 children.
In the Roaring Fork School District Early Childhood Programs, we focus on the whole child, which means taking into consideration all of the child’s developmental areas: physical, social/ emotional, cognitive and language. We recognize individual children for their strengths, talents and diverse needs, and customize our approach to ensure that all children experience success and growth towards meeting their learning goals.
Enrollment
For the 2019-20 school year, the Roaring Fork Schools will be asking only those students who want to attend a school at which they do not have a guaranteed seat to indicate their enrollment intent starting in late February through March 20. This applies to current students who wish to change schools, as well as to new students who wish to attend a school outside of their attendance area. (See attendance area map here.) This process will be a student’s best chance to be enrolled at his or her desired school if not guaranteed a spot at that particular school.
