Meal Benefits Information and Application

Applying and qualifying for free and reduced-price meals provides additional benefits to both families and schools. In addition to providing students with free or reduced-cost meals, families that qualify are also given access to other reduced-cost benefits for summer programming, athletics, and more. Please know that when applying for free or reduced-price school meals, your information is confidential. Your application will never be shared with any agency.

Additionally, the number of families that apply and qualify for free and reduced meals affects the Roaring Fork Schools' funding for providing nutrition services. The Roaring Fork Schools receive much of its funding from the federal government based on the number of students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals--even if those students choose not to participate in the school meals program! For every family that applies and qualifies, the district receives additional funding to support educational needs.

Free and reduced meal applications are available in English or Spanish at all school offices and kitchens. Applications are also available at the Nutrition Office located at 1405 Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs. For more information, please contact Michelle Hammond at 970-384-6016 or
