The Roaring Fork Schools would like our communities to know that the district’s “front door” is moving to Carbondale. During the district’s master facilities design process, community members identified moving the district office to a central location within the school district as a way to better serve stakeholders, and we listened. The Carbondale district office will be located in the building shared with Bridges High School (400 Sopris Ave).

Specifically, the Carbondale district office will house:

  • Informational services (the district’s new receptionist): moving to Carbondale immediately
  • Early childhood program headquarters: moving to Carbondale in early 2018, when their new office space is completed.
  • Family Resource Center: already located at the Carbondale district office
  • Administration departments: already located at the Carbondale district office

The Glenwood Springs district office will continue to house human resources, finance, and food services departments.

There are many benefits of this move. Housing services in a central location in our school district will provide more convenient access for families, staff, and community members. Additionally, the renovation of the Bridges building created the opportunity to intentionally design the space. This process resulted in a space that will better serve the district’s needs and provide enhanced services for our community and staff, such as an improved food pantry for the Family Resource Center and larger central spaces for teacher training needs.

We’re looking forward to these improvements, but know that for some, this move may be an inconvenience. We want all community members to know that information will continue to be available by phone and on the district website.

Though we are finishing up construction at the Carbondale district office, everyone is invited to stop by to check out the new district office and meet Laura Dominguez, our new receptionist.
